idles nice in neutral, but stumbles a bit and surges a little when i put in drive

idles nice in neutral, but stumbles a bit and surges a little when i put in drive
just got my 383 on the road for the first time today. got a question....
it idles nicely in park with a slight lope but when i drop it in drive, it kinda acts like it stumbles and wants to almost cut off....then, once i get rolling a bit, it acts fine. any idea what i could do about that or what might be causing it? i got a tune from madz28 after telling him details of everything i had. should i raise my "in gear" idle a bit or is that a bad idea?
