Idle vid of H/C/I LT1

Got my car running a few days ago. Here's her startup idle vid.

This is a Bret Bauer custom cam through open LTs. I should also say that I'm extremely happy with Bret's cam, very driveable and makes a ton of power.

nice, how loud is your valvetrain? and did you adjust the valves yourself? It seems like it is quieter than mine, and I have the LE3.2 cam.

The valve train sounds like a sewing machine under the hood. It's very noticeable at idle. On my buddy's LE1 cammed car they sounded the same, louder than ****.

It's LS7 lifters, comp cams pushrods and comp cams pro magnum 1.6s. My buddy did the adjustments, however I feel that I'll need to readjust them soon since we did it without the lifters being pumped up.

An LE 3.257689 or ? without divulging BRE corporate trade secrets, what's the approximate or range of duration/lift @ 0.050" and what LSA? Do you plan to pass CA smog with it?

From urbaN's website www.FQuick.com "(22x/23x - .6xx/.6xx - 10x LSA)"

Sounds good, how do you get around emissions out there?

The video doesn't do it justice. It sounds much more aggressive in person.

As for emissions testing, we have dyno smogs out here, which test the car under load at 15/25 mph. Big cams (within reason) clean up once they get a load placed on them and start turning a few rpms. With cats, I'm not so sure his car wouldn't pass. A few years ago someone passed locally with a 230/236.

yeah the specs are on my fquick. im really happy with it, didnt loose anything down low and pulls strong up top.

smog isnt really a problem, but i think it would prolly pass with a smog tune

This I'd like to see. Personally I don't think it has a snowball's chance in hell, regardless of tune. Assuming it is in the 108 LSA range, the car won't turn enough RPM to 'clean-up' on the smog dyno. Hell, 110 LSA isn't enough in a CC305. Very few 112 LSA cars, with reasonable durations, have passed. Good luck with that though - hopefully you have a 'hook-up' so it won't matter.

anything larger than mid 220s duration tends to push it at a smog station.but they may turn you away at the longtubes before it gets on the rollers anyways I am just speaking from experience

SS: I honestly really wonder why you are always fishing for cam specs from my stuff if my stuff doesn't run in your opinion? Probably just looking to drum up a pointless arguement like normal

urbaN: Cam sounds good! Glad you like it! It wasn't made for passing smog as one of the design requirements.

Yep - you got it. I want to copy your cam because everything they are in sets the world on fire. And we all know that the cams can be duplicated based on numbers at 0.050" too, right? I was curious to see if the lope the kids all drool over was anything more than a tight-*** LSA. I asked for a range anyway, not the specs, so relax.

The "lope" is just a by-product of valve events that work, it's not a marketing sceme.
