idle air control connector???
idle air control connector???
ok I have been installing my new engine and transmission today! It was real sweet to hear the thing fire up but I do have a few kinks to work out. First was I have a flat 4 wire connector for the IAC but on the IAC its a square 4 wire connector??? what is that about...I bought the throttle body with the IAC on it already.... My question is can I just buy a IAC with the correct plug that I need or what?

The IAC that fits your plug would not fit in the lower TB plate. You could swap lower plates to a later model to be able to use the IAC that fits the flat plug.
93s have screw-in IACs with a square plug.
94-97s have bolt-on IACs with a flat plug.

My car 94 Z28 had a short extension 6" that converted the square connector to the flat one for the original IAC. When I rebuilt my throttle body (kit) it came with a new IAC with the square connector. I noticed the extension and removed it and the harness plugged right into the new IAC. Check your harness it might be the same

Your probably right, the car in the mid 90's had an accel DFI computer on it instead of the factory PCM so it could be programmed for the cam and supercharger, maybe something got spliced then. In 2001 I hooked the factory computer back up because LT1 Edit was out and you could program the factory PCM. It's amazing I cant remember **** I did to the car back then.

thank you very much for that diagram I was looking for something to make sure I wired it right...and did not find that thank you again. The pigtail is in at the parts store so I will get it today and wire it up. Just the right IAC alone the parts store wanted $60 and I would then have to get the housing...the plug is like $16 so it was a no brainer to me...I need the extra money for the tune. Thanks again

Re: idle air control connector???
I'm one of those who finds himself "Lost in OptiSpark Land" on my 1993 Z28 LT1; what with with all the unfortunate mission creep that comes with having to change the following things all at once:
OEM Y-Pipe and CAT and O2 sensors
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
OptiSpark
Water Pump
two of the three Timing Cover Seals
...and meanwhile these have crept in along with the aforesaid...
Throttle Body Service
Intake Manifold Clean-out
Air Elbow... (It was ruptured and leaking straight dirty air for GOKHL)
TPS
IAC....
and now the problem I'm faced with relevant to this OP's issue(s) i involves the fact that when I unsnapped and tried to remove the pale green four-pin weatherproof connectors form the IAC ...it just crumbled into pieces in my hand like a stale cookie. So I could use some help in finding a replacement IAC connector/pigtail if someone would point me in the right direction... I'd be very grateful.
