my battery has been dead for a little while, everytime i need to move the car i have to jump it, so i washed my car lastnight in my garage with it being like 0 degrees outside, hooked it up to a charger all night. got in it and it had a good charge, turned right over and then died as soon as i let the key go, i had to give it gas to keep it going, and then when it wasnt in gear it would idle at 500 and then and fluxuate a little, but as soon as i gave gas it sped right up. could it be because of the cold maybe?

this is happening on my 1997 SS M6, i was thinking maybe my hood froze up or something, im using the ram air still. or my filter froze if it got wet.

anyone have this problem before?

 

Its probably just cold....how long did you let it run?

Also, did you disconnect the PCM before you put the battery on the charger?

 

no i didnt disconnect the pcm, do i need to reset it? car has started right up last night when i jumped it and ran fine. i think something froze, well find out when i go to leave work.
