Correct

I wouldn't go to the trouble of changing the pistons and what you have right now is good enough for the power levels you are looking at. You have ARP studs in the 2 bolt mains correct?

Re: I want a custom grind!

I hope they are ARP studs. Are you saying that I can make 525fwhp w/that compression and a 2-bolt main, and not have to worry about blowing the thing to smitherines?

I think 525fwhp is pushing around 470rwhp w/an M6 and 10-bolt. Thats laying down the law. Thats fast. I guess I will go ahead and port those heads out after all. I just did not know before that kind of hp was possible with lt1 castings.

No I was saying that the bottom end can take that, who knows if it's going to make that much power.

FWIW I've done 600hp on a 383, LT1 castings ported by Lloyd and a Solid Roller with a single plane so it can be done with those castings just takes a little work.

I believe Phil at Ai had a post about one of their stock casting LT1 cars running low 10's and i also believe he said 500 NA rwhp is capable out of stock LT1 castings. I hope i remember that right. Double check by doing a search though.
