I want 300-325 RWHP

I have a 97 Z28 A4. I would like to see close to 300-350 RWHP without having to break into the engine. Is this possible and if so, what kind of mods should I start looking into doing? Thanks for any info and replies.

It is possible. It will take LTs, CAI, cutout, 1.6rr, basically full bolt ons. That should get you just north of 300rwhp. To hit 325+ you will need a cam or PP heads.

First start with all the bolt ons. Headers, cai, exhaust, gear, stall, and a mild cam kit then youre there. Simple as that.

With full bolt ons, a tune, and everything working right you should be able
to see 300-310, but thats about it until you play with internals. I was at
290 without headers so I speak from my own experience.

I was just naming the bolt ons for his car. Since he has an A4, he should ditch those 2.73 gears and get something like a 3.73 or 4.10

See I have no clue what my rear gears are as we speak. What is the best way to find out what my car came with when it was built?

Or if you have a selectable 1st gear. If so, you have the 3.23, if not then you have the 2.73. This is of course assuming that you haven't notched a 2.73 car already.

By this I assume you mean I can pull it down into 1st gear? Cause it will only allow me to go down into 2nd. Doesnt even show "1st" on the gear selector.

You can change that There is just a little stopper there that you can slice off and then you have 1st.

Re: I want 300-325 RWHP

The car runs so damn strong its amazing. It will still light em up for a good 40+ feet just by smashing the 'go pedal'. Cant imagine giving this thing more gearing though. My 95 M6 must have had better gears cause it seems to have been a little more torquish.

3.73's for an auto, 4.10s can equal easy breakage in a 10 bolt.
