If so, what years/generation? Trying to find a local MAF to borrow. I can get one brand new from O'Reilly's for $105.21, but if I need to know if it's the real problem or not first.

Anybody heard of this? (Yes I tried a search!)

While I'm on the subject...any other cars/engines with the same MAF?

Thanks...

not even close. eclipses are using F-Body MAFs with a MAF-Translator box to solve their own MAF problems (the mitsu MAFs are possibly the worst possible designed air flow sensor in existence).

That's why there are test proceedures show you can check it without using parts.

Check yellow wire to black/white wire with key on for 5 volts. No less than 4 no higher than 6.

Check pink wire to black/white wire for 12 volts with key on.

Now with engine running check from yellow wire to ground with meter set to Frequency (Hz). Snap the throttle and be sure you get more than 7KHz response. If it is less try cleaning it. If it is still low, replace it.

I checked it out in another thread here:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=459571

I have:
13.xxV across the black/white and pink.

6.3-7V between the yellow and black/white wire. Is that still OK? Or, do I have a problem somewhere else?

over 6 you have a problem.

What about the AC response?

checked mine out today. can't get more than 6KHz repsonse. It's got to go. Then probably the O2s cause running rich usually kills em.

Oh well, didn't need the extra money anyway. LOL

Yeah I have over 6V KOEO, with the maf NOT connected to the wiring.

I don't have an o'scope to read that...I don't think I have anything that can, let me look.
