I think my project is complete
I think my project is complete
Just installed a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 stall converter and trans go shift kit.
that's it, done. i didn't think the lt4 conversion was really worth it till this stall converter. now it revs like nothing else I have heard and winds out like crazy. there is no way to launch it from a standstill, no way. get around 40 and stomp it, it's like being rearended by a 747. my friend was leaning forward when I did the 40 mph stomp, it threw him back in the seat and pulled his feet off the floor board. i didn't drive it today if that tells you anything. it's truly impressive, but also scary if that makes sense.
just looking at what I datalogged last night, 45-62 mph = 2 seconds. 45-90 mph = 6 seconds. oh, and pulled the cat, it sounds like a machine from hell when you get on it.
2-3 shift is soft, need to get into my programming and try to put some oomph back into it, I pulled all the hot shift programming out when I did the shift kit, afraid the two wouldn't mix.

Thanks guys, I used 3 spacers in the accumulator (fun bolting back onto tranny) and 2 shims in the servo. drilled everything out for full race / high stall converter, got the number off the 2nd piston and installed the white spring, etc etc etc. It was fun installing the shift kit, kinda like a grown ups lego kit or something.
their directions/diagrams/videos made the kit, I didn't have any problems. I just had to pull my tranny service manual to find out how much torque to put on the valve body besides, tighten evenly..
finally got a tripod for my camera/video camera, may have some in cab antics soon.
