It runs good for the 1st few minutes. Then it starts running like crap. It gets even worse as I get to high rpm`s and shoots out black smoke like crazy. My SES light is not comeing on. Do you guys think it is my opti?

 

That's EXACTLY what mine did. Swapped in a new Opti, runs fantastic.

 

Did your SES light come on?

 

My car idles good for the 1st couple of minutes then stumbles, also stumbles under light load then recently under all driving condtions. Could this be the opti?

 

An internally failing opti cannot set an SES light...so no, mine didn't come on...

 

Many times when cars run very rich its the MAP. Do have still have an egr on the car? You say another opti how old is the opti and how many have you replaced. If under warr take 2 hours and replace it again. I would scan before anything.

My SES light never went on for either of my optis, and or my egr. Just scan

 

The opti will set off a code when first starting the car. To see a code have LT-1 edit connected while starting the car.

Did you change the spark plugs?
