I think I got wrong part(s)
Hello, I am gathering parts for my cam installation. Before I get started on the job I want to make sure all my parts are correct for my application. I have a 1996 camaro w/LT1. This timing cover I received looks to be for maybe a older style small block w/o an opti-spark hook up. I dont know if maybe the two smaller circles on the cam part of the cover punch out?.. I was looking at pictures of LT1 timing covers and the 96 covers look like the opti hook up is on the bottom of the cover so im not sure..
The timing chain looks like it should be fine IMO. Correct me if I am wrong please. I am going to call the company tomorrow if the parts do not look right.
Thanks.

Here are some more pictures of the chain and gears:

Yes the timing cover and gasket won't work. Can't tell if that chain will work either since I can't see the back of the cam gear? Does it have teeth to accommodate the water pump gear drive or do you have an electric water pump? It too looks like it is for a traditional SBC.
No I dont think it has teeth, the only thing I see on the back is a little ring that rotates on what looks like ball bearings or something along those lines. I bet they are both for a small block. Looks like I will be calling them up. Thanks for the help.
The timing cover and the gaskets will not fit an LT1. Those are for a Generation I small block. There are no aftermarket timing covers for the LT1.
The timing chain may or may not work. There are two different bolt patterns for the camshaft sprocket. If it is the one for the roller cam applications it will work after you grind clearance on the back of the timing cover. If it is for the flat tappet camshaft it will not work in an LT1. It's very difficult to tell which it is from the picture but it looks like the wider bolt pattern (wrong one).
Looks like time to start over.

Im guessing the 96 model drives the waterpump like the 94 camaro, so asuming that is true. That chain/sprocket will not work, it needs to have the teeth inside the cam sprocket. The one I orderd came like yours and was the incorrect one.
