The stock castings can really flow well. It all depends on the entire package (intake, exhaust, engine, etc...). You don't want to over port with a stock cam. In fact, you can pretty much get an economy port for most cams equal to the LT4 Hot Cam or less.

It seems to me they would be a better deal for A4 cars cause auto's don't respond well to LT-4 heads.(At least this is my expierience)If you are starting out with 24 more HP from the get go, it seems it could only get better from there. Port um a little get a cam and see how much more you would gain. Seems like a good deal for someone on the stock bottom end, but when strokers etc. are invloved, I would go LT-4 or AFR. You need the larger runner in higher CI motors. Remember these heads are only 170cc, not 195cc like the LT-4's or AFR's. Point is, we really won't know until someone gets them and tests them in the real world.

I think that someone that has the time, and money needs to flow a set of stock castings, and these, and compare them, before they go judging them, and calling them junk. Next they both should recieve the same port job, whether it be cnc or what have you, and once again compare, just to get an idea of which ones flow better, and which ones are going to accept better cams, etc..

if you just bought these heads for your stock LT1 and expect a big bang for the buck your a dumb *** plain and simple.

you get heads/headwork after you get a cam/ rebuild/ done with bolt ons.

stock cars dont respond well to a better set of heads, not when there are more restrictions like exhuast and intake and your cam is limiting your power.

With that said, i dont see how anyone can make any judgements on these heads seeing how they have

a. never seen flow numbers
b. never seen results in the real world
c. dont know how much meat they have for someone to port

and as far as "just get Lt4 castings"
dont forget you need an intake to match it, and all together they come out to well over $1100

i'm wondering if that price is complete or bare as well
