They add a touch of plenum and leave the restrictive ports stock looking. If you are going to do an itake, might was well get rid of the ski ramps and weld those up too IMO for best potential.

Yeah....

Steve Quinn and Ellis (TwoFast4Lv) both did good versions of LT intakes...

Only issue is you dont gain any runner length no matter what you do to the LT1 intake. Thats where all the TQ and HP is.

Ghetto engineering at its finest. Only one that beats that is the TPI manifold with a carb base welded to the top of the plenum. WestSiiide!
