I smell gas

There is a strong gas smell that appears to be coming from a vent line that comes from the tank. It has a tanish white color round conector at the end. It snaps in right next to where the fuel pump harness is at the drivers rear. Do these need to be changed every so often?? What the hell is it?

There are several hoses in that area that connect the fuel tank vent to the charcoal canister in the drivers rear fender, and vent the canister to the engine. Not unusual for the hoses to rot. When they leak, it stinks. The vent connection starts at the top of the fuel tank, which is not accessible without dropping the tank or cutting an access panel from the interior.

Look at the diagram of the EEC vent system on Shoebox's Tech Pages, then poke around for the leaking hose based on the layout.

In the meantime, lay off the burritos.....
