whats broken:

Drivers entire light assembly
bumper cover
radiator support -bent

would you guys fix it? about how much $$$

or would you part it out? again, about how much $$ would i get for it?

the tranny/converter has 500 highway miles on it and i paid about 1800 for the two put togethor

EDIT: gas nozzle tube (where you fill up the car with gas from) needs to be replaced, sway bar, i *think* has to be replaced along with control arms,

If it were me I would part it.
Car will never be the same after wrecking it.
The only way I would rebuild it is if insurance paid for it and then I would sell it.
I know you don,t have insurance on the car so that is why I think you should part it out and use the money to buy another 4th gen.
Just my opinion though so you need to think about it and do whats best for you.
If you do part it and you are going to buy another 4th gen save the speed parts for your new car.

Have you got an estimate yet? If it costs more than half of what the car is worth to you I *personally* wouldn't fix it. That said. If the door closes and shuts, look at how it seals around the window. Did it look like that before? How about the rear subframe? Is it still "straight" or is it bent all to heck? Just look at the little things and see if they are showing any signs of the car being bent REAL bad. My car was wrecked by my sis, and it had some minor frame damage. The body shop said it didnt, and to compensate they told the alignment people to do some ****ed alignment, so the steering would go straight. Just got an alignment and the body shop says "it was perfect" when it left there and they fixed the frame My steering wheel has been at the 2 oclock position going straight for the last 4 months.

My car was hit before I got it. I can't tell it was wrecked by driving it, everything seems perfect. Ofcourse some of the body panels don't line up like they used to, but you can't tell unless you are right up on the car looking for them.

Personally I would part the car out. I think you will save money in the long run by parting it out and then getting a new 4th gen.

Get an estimate first, but it sounds like a lot of damage to be worth fixing. You should be able to get between $700-$900 for the tranny with the converter, plus a large chunk of change for the motor (and all the performance stuff). Use it for a down payment and buy another 4th gen. Good luck with it though, and sorry about your loss. In a few months, it will all be over and yoiu will be in another 4th gen

Not worth fixing... When I posted about my car getting hit, about 11 months ago, mine wasn't as bad as yours sounds, and mine was over $7,500 in repairs.

I'd also part it out! If u have the "Tools" for the job "I" (again if i was u) would pull the engine, computer and tranny out. I mean this car only has 62k on it?? Sh*t id keep the motor and what not and sell the rest of the car to a junk yard and still make out with a little bit of cash. And use that Cash to find a beater so u have something to drive while u look for ur next baby! Hell maybe keep the interior too! Or maybe (like i've seen many a time at a junkyard) the salvage yard that'd buy ur car and has a 93-97 Firebird with a good body and a shot motor and/or interior and maybe he'd trade u or work out a seal....u never know!!

With the unibody damage I am not sure that I would try to fix it, (And I will try to fix damn near anything), but whatever you do DON'T just give it to the junkyard! (Around here they pay you maybe $50 or $75 for ANY car). If you take a look on E-Bay at the used F-Body parts you will get an idea of what it's worth as a parts car. I have seen wrecked 94 and 95 Camaro's go on there for $1000 to $1500 WITHOUT an engine. The seats alone are worth $250 to $300 (if in good condition). The point is, check out what it's worth as parts before you make a decision, you might get a lot more than you think.
