I REALLY f'ed up, experts please help...

I am in the process of installing my racetronix fuel pump. I am so pissed right now, I was cutting a beginner access hole with my dremel and the damn fuel line was maybe 1 mm from the sheet metal! I cut into one of the metal fuel lines (into it not the whole thing but I think I heard pressure bleed off!!!!!! ARGGGG how can this be happening??? I just finished doing so many mods and I can't even drive it now!

How can I fix this. The one that was cut is the farthest one on the right.

Is it repairable? What can I use? Please help me I'm in a state of distress right now I had no idea that the line would be almost touching the damn body. Do I have to replace the whole line? I don't even know how I would go about doing that!!! Oh my god this is all bad...

What do I do!!!

I agree, new fuel line shouldn't be too difficult to install.

Good luck and try not to blow yourself or your car up.

Sorry about your misfortune man. I think you need the whole fuel sending unit. I just replaced mine to fix the gage and the lines that are in your picture are all included. I don't think the fuel line by itself is servicable (repairable maybe, replaceable doubt it). I am in the bay area too and you can have my old sending unit if you want to hook up (Im at work in Milpitas right now, let me know). Maybe you can salvage something from it and it is already removed. I have the PN at home but you might check it yourself because mine is a 94. 99% sure they are the same but not 100%. It cost about $200. I know you didn't want to hear that.

Good Luck,
sean

It's cut about 1/3 of the way into the line straight down not angled or anything. If anybody would like to host a pic I can take one tonight, I'd appreciate that. I'm going to stop by some parts stores and see what they got for me. I'm going to look for a fuel line repair kit or a compression fitting. I still am having a hard time picturing what it would look like.

ever brass or motor mite part number for what, for the repair kit correct? I will look for it today. Mike, if I can not find a compresson fitting here I would appreciate it greatly if you could send me one, I'll give you a little extra for your trouble too. I will let you know, thanks.

hardware store will have a compression fitting. they are nothing new. you may have to cut further over to the left in order to get at the line better. itll handle the pressure no problem. just dont get crazy when tightening it up and keep and eye on it. no teflon tape or anything needed either. Personally I would get the whole assembly from GM.
expensive it will be but in my opinion it would be the best fix.
I wonder about installing a union in there with as tight as those lines fit, and its right where the end fits into the quick disconnect.
I have had my fuel pump out three times in the last couple weeks to fix a fuel line problem I was having.
Good Luck with it whichever way you go.

Hi,

Sorry about what happen. I just saw the thread.

I agree the best is to replace the line but that is going to be a hassle and costly.

If you want you can try fixing it. By cutting through the metal fuel lines and connect it with a rubber fuel line that will go snugly onto the metal fuel line. Then buy the clamps that is specific for fuel lines and that is specific for the size you want and clamp that tightly.

This is the better clamps to use

This normal ones will work but not as good

Then check to make sure nothing leaks and come back and check it from time to time until you are pretty sure.

i say replace the line, a compression fitting may work, a rubber hose may work.
i think we'll all agree thats not the place to skimp on i say rubber hose it, so you can drive it for the time being while your ordering a new line.
