A.I.R pump operation

How long does the AIR pump run once the motor starts up?
Does it activate at every start up regardless of engine temp?

Re: A.I.R pump operation

The PCM turns on the AIR pump any time after startup when the coolant temperature is above 59-degrees (not before). It is turned off after 240 seconds or when the PCM enters closed loop.

It will not turn on if there is an SES light, RPM is greater than 2825 RPM, MAP is greater than 96kPa with VSS over 60mph, MAP is less than 20kPa, in PE mode, RPM is below 400, short and long term fuel trims are not in their normal ranges or ECT is less than 59-degrees.
