A.I.R. pump fixed yesterday-recall!

I had been having problems with my SES coming on because of an air pump malfunction, and finally found out that it was a recall on some LT1 cars, and on mine it had naver been completed. So far my light is off.....anyone else had this done, did it fix the prob?

Yes it will fix the problem, the air pump will trigger a SES light. It will come and go. They had to scan my car when it was running and the light was on, if you shut the car off the code is not stored for this malfunction

I had my '95 done under warranty about a year ago.

This is still an open recall, so it shouldn't cost you a dime.

If they try to charge you, you need to contact GM. This is an emssions recall due to a bad air pump.

The dealership will need to order a kit, so you might want to check with them first and see if they will order the kit and have you bring the car in after it arrives.

They might want to scan the car first to see what the code is, but the airpump kit has to be installed anyway, so if they run your vin # and the work hasn't been done they should get right on it.

I had one dealer jerk me around so I called GM and filed a complaint and went to another dealer and they fixed it no problem.

No recall for 94's so I "fixed" mine in my driveway the other day by unplugging the stupid thing.

I had the wiring recall done on my car after they had replaced a "bad" AIR pump. I went back to GM and they gave me back my money for the cost of the AIR pump. It is now in my shed collecting dust.

What error code did you get when the SES light came on for the air pump??? Very curious because I have been trying to get my SES light to go off and the dealer said that mine could be replaced under the recall.
