Unplug C100 as suggested and see if it goes away. Your problem might be in the tranny.

pulled C100 out of the trans and continuity to ground went away, car fired right up. What in the trans could ground out like that? Also, I called the mechanic that rebuilt the trans and he says the MLPS could be grounding out... but wouldn't that be in the console? I don't see a pink wire in the console...

Hang on a sec. So you unplugged the large connector at the tranny? That is not C100, but it still told you that the ground is in the tranny. The pink wire that goes in on cavity "E" feeds power to all the solenoids and stuff inside. It could be that the wire got pinched by the valve body or is chafed and grounding out.

MLPS?

yep, it was the large connector. The mechanic thinks it's the mpls, but I looked in the console and don't see any pink wires... is the mlps in the console or in the trans?
Also, does the pink wire feed directly to the solenoids, or does it terminate in the controller on the valve body? I guess I need a trans wiring diagram now lol

Diagram. The pink wire does not go to the console. If you unplugged it from the trans and the ground went away, the only place the ground can be is in the trans.

I still don't know what mlps is.

I pulled the DTC and got one saying feedback fault on the 3-2 downshift solenoid. Now this is with the big connector unplugged though... I can't plug it in and check for codes because I can't start the car that way...

Got to leave in a few min but here's some stuff:
The fuse 11 doesn't control the AC or the cruise.. [thats fuse 12 ]It is the same fusible link tho[fusible link E is for fuses 9 10 11 & 12]
The trans pink wire and the coil ICM pink wire are fused by IGN fuse 11[underhood]
The pink wire to the trans [as I previously listed]feeds these solenoids etc:
pink wire to E in A4 trans plug, [which feeds TCC ,3-2, 2-3, and 1-2, solenoids.]
Shoe's diagram [trans] is accurate except ther are 12 wires in the 94 plug[looks like there are 13 in the 95 plug] and there is NO wire U [PWM TTT soleniod.]in the 94
Got to go will ck back later or 6am..

yep, I got that same info from Shoe's diagram. No I need to see if it's the harness in there or one of the solenoids that dies and shorted to ground
