Re: I need a pic of lt4 timing set...

the lt1 chain is not a performance chain at all i had freinds breaking them with typical upgrades, stock chain cannot handle excessive rpm.the rare lt4 engine came with a stronger chain due to the needed rpm of the lt4,then they came out with the heavy duty chain that is beefier and can handle the hi rpms the lt4 hot cam/kit provides.i wish i had a pic of all three chains so you can see for yourself the differences,i can say this the factory lt1 chain looks similar to the old school ugly chains, the lt4 chain is more like a heavy duty bracelett, the cam gear is solid and the lt4 HD chain is a beefy bracelett and has a solid cam gear as well.what was the part number of the 4 peices you recv'd

I didn't think you could use just the cam gear with stock other pieces, but I might be wrong.

I'm confused. First you say you ordered the set. Then, only ordered the cam gear? Now you say it was the crank gear.

You may have the correct crank gear. I too was a little skeptical when I saw how whimpy the dang thing looked. It came in my complete extreme duty lt4 timing kit. Its on the car now, so no photos, but the piece is whimpy as hell compared to the monsterous cam sprocket!!

Yeah, I saw that you posted that. It's all the stuff before that didn't say or said something different. Confusion could have been avoided.

This is the LT4 extreme duty set (ignore the holes in the cam sprocket ). Unfortunately, the socket and bar are blocking the view of the crank sprocket a bit:

Here's a pic of the stock (installed) vs the LT4 (not ED, but stock replacement for LT4 engines) chain:

I thought it looked pretty whimpy at first, until I looked a bit closer--there's strength in the design that won't be noticed by most eyes.
