I need a muffler

I am looking for a muffler for my 97 Z28. Call me crazy, but I actually like the looks of the stock tips, so I don't want to get a complete cat-back system I also like to keep the car as original as possible. Any suggestions to what kind of muffler I should get? I am looking for a nice rumble without being too loud (cops down here do care about loudness unfortunately). Thanks a lot.

Basically, you have several choices of replacement "only" mufflers.

Flowmaster 80 series, Dynomax Ultra Flow, Magnaflow, Hooker Aerochamber, and Spintech are some of the more popular brands available that can all be used with the stock tailpipes and Z28 tips.

Flowmaster may not flow the best, but I heard the 80 series using Z28 tips on an otherwise stock LT1 Z28 last week and that thing sounded very deep on acceleration(very loud at idle too). If your looking to be quieter with some better flow, Hooker also sounds damn good too IMO.

I like my hooker, it's loud and has that cool little pop when you let off the throttle at high rpm's and get you get to say you have a hooker under your car.

hooker aerochamber

I have an entire hooker cat back system on my 94 z m6 and it sounds great You can use the stock tips on the hooker cat back system if you wanted to. I use the tips that came with the system. Later I will probably get some hooker resonator tips.

My vote goes to HOOKER
