Hi Guys!

I need to know what the best brand of Fuel Injectors are to put on my car?

1997 Z28 with 83k miles on it. Stock

I have been having problems with hard starts and rough idling for a long time. I have replaced the plugs&wires, optispark, EGR, Map Sensor. IAT sensor, and Brand new fuel pump>All ACDelco Parts.

New Ignition coil and Ignition Control Module.

O2 sensors respond well so I don't think it is a problem with them.

If I let my car sit for 1hour or long it has to crank for a while to start say 7 or 8 seconds. But I don't see any black smoke come out the exhaust though.

Fuel Pressure regulator don't leak through the vacuum line though.

I'm just puzzled by what is the best brand of Fuel Injectors to get


How bad are the harnesses to the optispark about corroding up and causing this to happen?

I am sorry to be so long but I wanted to make sure I got all the information in.

Been beat to death but... Acell's are good to me. Very few makers of injectors so most are on the same level. Most companies just sell them. Do a search fo threads I came up with over 200. Bit of advice, no matter what your GF says, size is important!

 

had your battery checked? and alternator? kinda sounds like something's not getting enough power somewhere along the lines. I read a great thread about grounds possibly causing hard - starts, and rough idling... depending where you live the faster your grounds to the chassis might corrode, or be loosened.... just some food for thought.

 

I'm sorry I don't know why I thought that was so funny for a second but I did.

anyways getting to the ? a lot of guys upgrade to the ford svo injectors, I don't have much experiance with injectors so I won't say anymore.

If I had to choose injectors for a stock LT1, I would choose factory injectors. The RP (now Delphi) ball/seat injectors have a unique spray pattern, and that's what the intake/injector location was designed for. But, since factory injectors typically cost $400 a set, the SVO/FMS/Bosch/Denso pintle type injectors appear to be a good "2nd choice" at $200 a set. The Accels and Holleys are also the Bosch style.

 

Note: My siemens didn't fit quite as tight as the stockers, as in you could wiggle them back and forth a tad more. Doesn't seem to be causing any problems though.
