i need help and i dont know where to start
i did better than that, i took it to autozone and they tested it for me... turns out it was the factory coil, and it was shot... 172,000 miles on a factory coil! WOW! lol... so to say the least, i replaced it and she started right up! even with the bad plugs still in! so yeah that was the problem... im just taking a break from changing the plugs. 7 down - 1 to go... you know the one on the passenger side by the firewall... i read a thread about that plug yesterday and im trying to get to it, but the problem is i have too much muscle in my forearms so its really hard for me to get to. but im working on it.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me with my problem, i really appreciated having someone to go to when i thought i had no one. i am so glad to have my baby up and running again! i cant tell you how greatful i am to each and every one of you for taking the time to give me some advice.

i have a 95 z/28 and its giving me a problem with the fuel system as well... it starts fine and idles fine, but on occaision it will sputter and bog down when i push the gas, but when i let off it idles just fine, i then start to give it gas again and it just sputters again, i then just give it wide open throttle and it sputters up till about 4,000 rpm then the fuel lines clear out and it runs fine, until i make a slow left or right turn, then it starts to sputter again.
i have been trying to troubleshoot exactly whats wrong, do any of those symptoms apply to your car?

in a way yes but mine struggled to restart... it would sputter, bogg down and die... i would recommend that you take your coil out and check it just to be sure... like i said if you have an autozone near by the should test it for you for free... or if you have a multi meter already, you can go back in this thread and it will give you a link on how to test it yourself. the coil was my problem, if that doesn't help, im sure the guys (or girls) {dont want to offend anyone} on here can help point you in the right direction. they sure helped me out.

On changing out spark plugs, you can get your hands into places you wouldnt think. I have big forearms(not to brag) and have amazed myself sometimes. It seems that which direction your laying under the car can have a huge impact on getting your hands in tight spots.

I had a good hunch that was it. That is the first place I would check on failing ignition on LT1 before diggin in to the over blamed opti. I bet your car will accelerate much smoother now with new plugs and coil if that was the original.

i had a roommate with a little skinnier arms help me get that final plug... it took a little bit to explain what needed to be done because hes not very car literate but we got the job done... and by the way she runs great! better than it has the whole year ive had it so far... so yeah, im having fun with it again.
