If using stock heads, go with the CC305. Perfect match for the stock heads in my opinion. Good luck.

Forget about the CC305/305/Hot Cam. The Extreme cams are much better. You just have to set up the valve springs at 140 lb seat pressure.

hey man cams are a dime a dozen. do your heads first and then match the cam to the heads. if i were you i would buy a set of good heads say afrs and have them ported and wait on the cam. there is so much power in the heads the better the heads are the better the cam will be.

230 236 is a good cam, with stock heads it made a ton of differance. with ported heads and headers you couls see up to 400 hp. the 847 is a good cam also from what i've read but never seen one in action.

oh yea the 230 236, i always get complements on the sound. i would like to have a little more bump but the cam smoothes out right at 70 mph, so i wouldnt want much bigger on a street car.

honestly i get a little tired sometimes when people want to stop me in the parking lot or drive next to me in town telling me how good my car sounds. but it does feel good when so many people give you props on your car.

first off i'd say look closely at the 847. i hear a lot of good things about it.

now kmook dynoed 405 hp with the 230 236 ported heads longtube headers.

with that out of the way, i was running out of money when i did mine so i took the chance. stock lifters and pushrods. the heads needed stonger valvesprings and longer valves. i put 1.6 rr and guide plates also. the guideplates are needed.

so basically just slip the cam in do the heads and exhoust.

like vince said the heads are the key to performance, the thing has to breath. and if you have the time to get the heads ported and find the cam that best complements them thats the way to go. but the 230 236 or 847 will make you happy either way. and then tell your porter to match the heads to the cam. wich ever you decide will be good.

Actually, I think you should call up one of the supporting vendors on here and talk to them. Personally, I have heard a lot of good things about Combination Motorsports. They will tell you everything you need, including all the parts you need for a cam install. They should also be able to help you with the cam selection. Good luck.
