i just dyno'd....problems...

it was a back woods place and they just got there dyno about a week or two ago, old man operating it....first run, 175 rwhp, and 312 rwtq, 2nd run i had 210 or 211 rwhp and 280 rwtq and last run i got 215 rwhp and 278 rwtq

NOW, i just put otvc's, no trouble codes are showing, i got longtubes, CAI, cutout, no cats egr air delete......any 1 with me on thinking it was the place?

if i ran 2.36 60 ft (40 psi Z rated goodyears) 9.3 in 1/8 mile , where should my hp be at? any calculators? (thats with stereo seats etc...

and if i run again, with low psi and i saw a ... 2 flat 60 and run a 9.0 or 8.9 would i be in the 285-295 rwhp range?

i hope something's up, cuz 215rwhp out of all those mods seems incredibly... LOW. even if it was a mustang dyno which seem to show up with lower numbers than say a dynojet...

ETs dont mean much about HP. What were your 60' and trap speeds?

Re: i just dyno'd....problems...

well this is a good thing to know......i called carolina auto masters, they said way i did it was all wrong (usualy put it in 3rd and do the pull....) these guys got me to put it in 2nd, and drive to 90 mph that'd be my problem along with it being mustang dyno, but now my ? would be, if i got 312 max torq on first run, what might my peak torq really be ?

Mustang dyno's are usually lower but not that much. A 9.3 for your mods is pretty bad! You should be running mid 8.5's 8.6's on street tires with the right launch! 9.3's is what most stock LT1's run if not a little slower!

That seems wrong to me as well, considering your 1:1 drive ratio would be 4th gear, seeing as how you've got the 6 speed trans

Re: i just dyno'd....problems...

they usually run the car in 4th gear for 6pds. when i had my car dyno tuned he went through the gears easy until 4th, then he ran it up to redline!

Re: i just dyno'd....problems...

isnt the rule .1 off 60 is .2 off et? ( so .4 would be .8 off--which would put me at 8.5) set of nitto's would fix that

Re: i just dyno'd....problems...

wow dude, that does suck. technically you can dyno in any gear and they can correct the numbers, but if you dyno in your direct drive 1:1 gear ratio there is no need to correct the numbers and that's where the corrected numbers are coming from anyway. some dynos just like to be different i guess.

LT1ponykilla- a 2.36 60' is one with a lot of wheel spin. and when u throw in wheel spin, the numbers can't be figured out like normal track numbers. when i was running stock i was running 13.9-14.0 all day long. i pulled up on a C5 and got too excited and too far into the pedal and spun. i ran i think a 15.5.

there's no way with ur mods that you should be looking at 9s in the 1/8. with some tires and a nice 60' you should be seeing mid 8s.
