Well I hope you guys casn help. I'm looking at buying a S-10 that the gut says it has a 1991 LT1 motor in it. Did they make the LT1 in 1991. He said the engine came out of a capric. any thought on this thanks

 

The lt1 did not come in any car in ,91

 

To the best of my knowledge the LT1 did not show up until 92 in the Vette.

I do not know much about it but there was an LT1 produced many years ago (I want to say sometime in the 70s) but this is a carbed setup and very different than the current LT1.

 

it may be a lt1 but not a 91 and definitly not out of a caprice that year.

maybe a lt5 not

 

The first modern LT1 showed up in late 91 vettes. There is a LT1 engine from the 70-71 as well.
