I Had a bad day! 95 Z rod knock

I got a 95 Z28 LT1 5.7 With a 6spd behind it. I bought the car about 2 months ago And I have already put $2000 just in parts in not including labor because I did most of it myself Clutch, radiator, intake gasket complete tune up K&N air filter, Airfoil, brakes, rear seal, pinion seal, and the list goes on. So basically the car is pretty much new again. It has 126,000 miles leather t-top, the works, very clean extremly nice driving and very fast. But not anymore. Today I was driving it very easy watching temps and oil pressure alot (which I always do with all my cars) all of the sudden out of nowhere it started knocking and then shut down ( thank god for GMs Knock sensor) Got her off the road and got it to start a few minutes later and now she knocking like a bitch spun a rod or main. no fluid loss of any kind, never over heated. I pulled dip stick and yep metal shavings in the oil. strange never even gave me sign. So I'm gonna have to pull motor. I've been reading alot about guys building 383 strockers for this car. can some of you guys tell me a little about that. I am a mechanic by trade So I do know my way around a motor. Is it worth it? what are the advantages of a 383 strocker over a stock rebuild? and is it alot work to do so? Money is not an issue with me.
can I use most of my stock LT1 parts like injecters, intake etc any advise would be VERY appreciated. I'm kinda pissed at the car right now I've already loss my *** money wise so I might as well keep going and build it right I want it to be noticed when I start it I want POWER and speed. Thanks alot guys !
HELP ME OUT PLEASE.

eeeeeeeek!

If you spun a bearing, you're most likely going to need some crank work anyways. Sounds like you caught it in time, so damage may be minimal but it is a good chance to upgrade to 383. More displacement= more torque

You can use the stock intake, but things like injectors, heads, cam, springs HAVE to be upgraded.
