I got a solution for my wanting of exhaust tone!

Well here's the story I had a 96 z and had put jet hots and true duels ending in 3 inch purple hornie glasspacks on it. Well needless to say that car got totaled along with most of the exhaust system. Well i picked up a 95 and it was completely stock. After 4 months I was getting tired of it being so damn quiet. I had takin off every single part of performance I had invested into my last car and threw it into the garage to go onto the new one.

Here's where this all comes together. I thought to myself "hey I have a 3 inch purple hornie glass pack with turn down in my garage". Why not cut the intermediate pipe after the converter and have someone weld on the glasspack. So I went ahead and did it. It actually sounds pretty damn good!! I excited cause im probably getting about the performance of a aftermarket catback exhaust and I spent 10 bucks out of pocket to get it welded on there.

This is only temporary until I get the jet hot lt's and duels back onto this car. Also has anyone else done this before? I'm kinda curious cause even if I bought the glasspack that day the total cost of the system would be 60 dollars. So not a bad idea for the guys looking for good performance per dollar.

heh.....same exhaust I am running, Hooker Jet Hot coated LTs and purple hornies.
Lots of guys look at the hornies as too redneck but they are cheap as hell and sound damn good, I get lots of compliments on my exhaust and when I tell them what it is they they get this stupified look on thier face.
Unless you go big money and get a stainless exhaust setup most catbacks are like disposable lighters, use em up and throw em away so its not worth it to me to spend more money on a Hooker catback or similar setup when the glasspacks get the job done.

Hehe we think alike. I love the sound of these things. They're decently quiet when you are idling or at part throttle but scream like mad when to stomp on it. Can't wait to get a new set of headers anf purple hornies If that make me redneck then hell I'm I redneck with a damn good sounding car
