Unhappy I Got Scratched!!!

I got the back of my car scratched today at work parking lot while I was inside. To top it off, I don't know who did it. Instead of paint, it look like a layer of plastic and it is lose. is there anything that I can do myself or do I have to get it done at a shop. anyone know if warranty will cover this kind of thing?

Warranty will not cover vandalism or accidental damage. Depending on how deep the scratch is, you might be able to do it yourself at home with a buffer and some chemicals.

whats wrong with people now-a-days. The other day I came out and watched a Jaguar tap my car just enough to leave a huge red line on my front fascia. So I started to run toward him and he sped away. Jerk......Good Luck, Bud!

Yeah, people are jerks. I take my time and take a lot of care when I open my door in parking lots (because of the naturally long doors) and have to twist myself in many different ways to get out of my car without bumping my door into other people's cars. Granted, I'm probably more worried about my car than theirs, but still, the respect is there.

I go to college and have to park in the lot, and it seems like every time I go home and wash my car, I find more little dents on my car, especially on top of the driver's side quarter panel. I don't know if someone is doing it on purpose or what. When I first came down here I had maybe 1 or 2 dents on that quarter panel, and 1 1/2 years later I probably have about 8 on there. I'm not really sure how they happen because it's on the TOP of the panel, like next to the trunk lid. The only thing I can thing of that it is purposefully done or someone keeps sitting on the quarter panel And, only a week after I got here my freshman year, someone did a hit and run on my car in the lot. Bashed in my passenger side quarter panel right above the bumper... Had that fixed, but had to fork out 400 to do it. No idea who did it, but the marks made by the car that hit me look like it was a truck bumper (GM type with the black ribbed trim on the bumper).

Sucks... Sorry to hear about that dude.

Anyone know how to get out small dents yourself without damaging the paint? I've heard of the dry ice trick, but never seen it done successfully or tried it myself.

yeah, i got the same problem with my driver side rear quarter. and dont try parking in the back of the parking lot, cause sure as ****, you'll come back out and some a$$hole will be parked right next to you. but anyways, if the damage is extensive enough, you could possibly deal with your insurance company. of course thats if you want to deal with them. and then you'll have to come out of pocket for your deductible. which will be probably just the amount to cover the damage. or just opt to get it fixed on your own when you have the time and the money. and basically suck it up. i know its frustrating. i can guarantee most of us have been there.

Two words my friend, Ding King! I know, I know, it sounds like a rip off when you see it on TV, but the kit actually works! I've taken out 5 dings from my drivers side quarter panel and it was so easy. They have em at Wal Mart for $19.95. Go buy a kit, play with it for an hour or two and once you get the hang you'll see the improvements!

P.S. Didn't mean to sound like an infomercial I was just VERY satisfied with it! Give it a try.

most maro's get the dents on top of the quarter panels, it's not from vandalism. I think it has to do with the springs and/or shock mounts, just over time they start damaging the 1/4 panel.

Hey I work for A detail shop u should try wet sanding with 2000 grit sand paper use water, and buy some heavy buffing compund with a SAnder/Polisher about 2200 rpms,go over the scratch evenly with the compund, then go back over it with a cleaner wax about the same rpm, with a buffer u should take it out or at least lighten up the scratch wear its barely visible
but be careful u can easily burn your car,Also Eagle one makes good products to take scratches out ...
