Its possible w/ good driving and a good running car...i think jordan musser ran a 12.7 in his LT1 w/ nothing more then LTs, borla, and a intake...The times are believable, seen many run similar w/ similar mods

I dont understand why alot of you guys call BS about everything. Just cause your cars didnt run those times with the same mods doesnt mean its BS! There are plenty of bolt on LT1's with stock heads and cams running low 12's with weight reduction and good suspension setups.

Congrats man! Keep up the good work.

What I'm saying is that the times that he ran are on par with what I see guys with the Hotcam running. Granted the Hotcam can run faster than 12.9@107 on stock heads, and often does, but on average, it's about what I see out of that cam a lot. Most of the time, with stock heads, I see 12.5-13.2@106-112. It varies a lot with the cam, depending on driver.

Dan
"Thats about what it would be running with a six speed, if a cars set up right, it'll run good. Problem is 75% of cars out there are set up so crappy they run horible for the mods they have, so when some one who knows what their doing sets a car up and it runs good people are all of a sudden amazed with the times."

The above is why we see a lot of cars running bad times with cams. I see a lot of bolt-on A4's running 104 and high 12's with big stalls on this board. Those stalls make up the 4 mph with all the torque they add. Autos are less efficient, the stall equalizes this defficit. Yes, 12.9 at 107 is a great run, but I think it is on par. It's what I would expect out of my car with the same mods. It's what I think I would run with some nittos (but, not at 107mph, I have an A4).

There are a few guys on this board running mid-high 11's with cam, stall, stock head, and no juice. Those are good times. I used to think running high 11's with a shot was good, but man, these guys know how to set a car up. They're the ones with the great running cars everyone else is normal. I'd be really happy with low 12's with a mild cam.

With no MAJOR tuning also..

I can get a timeslip from an 8 second run from a friend of mine and post it here. If he really wanted to lie about it don't you think it would be easy to get someone to give him a timeslip. Now a vid of the run would be proof enough.
But I beleive him, since my car went 107 with the same kinda mods. Traction sucked bad though.

What I'm saying is that it is a very good time, for the mods he has, in my opinion. I never said it wasn't believeable, I'm trying to say that he drove well.

This is like the whole debate when someone asks what your car runs, and you give them your absolute best time. (not the average, including all the bad launches, bad weather days, ...)

In my opinion, his time and speed are quick for his mods, but still believeable, and a compliment to his car and driving.

They're running of the shelf cams (Crane 210/224, hotcam), but you're right about the other ****. Major weight reduction, tuning, suspension, etc. But your right 12.0 is a really good time. Good luck with your car.

No problem man. I hear this crap all the time. I have a friend that runs 8.1's in the 1/8 @86mph in a 2002 LS1 with just a catback, lid, and 245 Nitto's. People call bs all the time but Ive seen it over and over again. He also hit 7.4's @ 98mph on a 150shot. Very quick car for his mods!

My best ever run with boltons only was a 12.92 @107.9 with a low 1.9 60'. I had very similar mods to this guy at the time SLP single cat headers, full exhaust, 4:10's, CAI and other small boltons. The day I ran that time was in very good weather too, If I pulled the sway bar and had 1.6 rockers I'm very sure I could have had a 12.7-12.8. His times seem very believable to me, the only thing that surprises me is that it was your first time ever running it??? That's pretty incredible. When I ran my bolton best it was after running it at least 30-40 times previously.
