I give up!

Lately my when you go t o start my car... it triggers the ignition coil... then attempts to turn over.... then nothing... then you try again a few moments later it will click... turn over then put put put.... and start roughly.... it will idle roughly... then drop down to 800... then pick up to 900... then drop to 800... the idle smoothly.

Then there's times you jump into the car and start her up and it just starts right up liek normal with no problems.

I've changed the Starter
new ICM
VATS has been programmed out
New Coil
New Wires
Good juice at battery
New Ignition Switch

leaves me with a WTF scenario...

I'm so done trouble shooting open to any suggestions...

I'm really at a brick wall with this one.

Re: I give up!

Slim chance it might be a broken valve spring. Just a thought.

Re: I give up!

My car would of exploded by now...... but that would be a good excuse for a cam swap.

Re: I give up!

fix the cranking problem first, it sounds like poor amperage to the starter, do you know how to do a voltage drop test

Re: I give up!

Honestly that is exactly what my car did when it wasnt getting gas to the engine. I was low on gas and on a incline just right that it couldnt get the little bit left in the tank. So whatever you might think would keep gas from getting there occasionally. Fuel filter, line plugged up, injector clogged, etc.

Have you checked your fuel pressure?

Re: I give up!

Yeah... I have a Autometer guage installed on there.. fuel pressure is fine... 43psi

I changed out the filter too...

Today she acted normal.

My starter wire was burned out... becasue of the header... and I repaired it.

The injectors are new...

It's hard to pin point because when it runs it runs normally and starts up normally... but out of no where when you turn it on.... it gives you hell and heartache.

I might test the battery out... I get good amperage... but there was a time when it was drained down to 9volts and I don't know why.... it's an optima at that... so...???
