I dont think this is my belt...so what is it!?
Need any suggestions to pinpoint this please. Ok LAST time my belt was slipping, it was making my powersteering seize up and not work, and it wasnt making any noise.
NOW, i can hear something whining under the car, but only after it warms up..and when im stopped idleing in gear(auto), the voltage guage drops down alot. I replaced the battery(Sears gold) and alternator(170 amp one)...and its still doing it.
If this is not the belt, what the hell else would make a squeel that sounds like a blower under my hood, and makes the volts drop down, and makes me run at 500 rpm at idle. Oh yea, my car has been running rich lately also, and its pouring out a good bit of white smoke from exhaust.
Thank you for ANY suggestions!
OH yea, the belt is prolly about 8 months old...im going to go get a new one, but before I leave, i just wanted to see if anyone had similar problems...and how you fixed it. Thanks again

Check the weep hole on the waterpump. Make sure its not leaking coolant out of there and onto your belt. If it is, you will have to replace the pump. Mine was doing this causing me to lose power steering.
i had the same exact problem and i think i know what it is...but first of all did you add an aftermarket pulley? cause if thats the case thats what it is and plus the belt is also not the right size
It is prolly the harmonic balancer coming apart.
Mine did this when the rubber piece in between started to deteriorate. Get a new harmonic balancer if this happened because your engine will be out of balance and put extra stress on the bearings.
To check it, make sure car is cold (in the morning is best) lift car a little, and grab the harmonic balancer (the biggest pulley) if you can wiggle it back and forth, then it is time to replace it.
The rubber piece goes bad if you had oil leaking on it etc.
