I cant get my valve train to shut up, any other ideas?
I tried to get everything set tonight to no avail.
My passenger side is louder then ussual. It makes it like impossible for me to tell when a rocker is clacking because it sounds the same all the time.
What would happen if I set the valves too tight to begin with so that I wont have a problem hearing the one I am setting.
I know that the comp r's dont like alot of lash, but lets say I go like a 1/4-1/2 turn to shut them up then adjust them out as I go down the line.
Anyone know any other reasons for this kind of noise? (my other post has a sound clip)

I hear the self aligning rockers are louder than that NSA version. I am running Pro mag NSA rockers and they are pretty quiet. You can barely hear them standing outside the car with the hood down.

I don't know about the Comp Rs....but normally i would say going to a full half turn past zero lash then starting it up and adjusting while running should not be an issue. That is with "regular" rockers.

Try a 1/4 turn with the Comp R's. But too tight should not be loud unless you overtightened the rockers and flattened the roller. I had the same problem with my Crane rr self aligning. I screwed around with them for days, I then realized that it was the nature of the beast and learned to deal with it! Drive the car around a little, and see how your power is up high.
