Not really, but if you get a used one really cheap, it might be worth it, depending on what you want it to do.

Other than their power tuning, you can change shift points, shift firmness (if you have an automatic), adjust the speed and rev limiter, program for a different tire and gear size, change the fans kick on temperature, etc.

If you do decide to buy one, stay away from the older, two button ones. You want a Plus or a III (latest) version.

For all intents and purposes, the Hypertech is a $330 fan switch! I dumped mine for LT1 edit and haven't looked back.

No get programming. I went with PCMforless and then recorded the dyno runs and sent Bryan back the codes. It's an end around but it is dialed in now. Best is to have a wide band, a dyno, and a programmer there to do it right the first time.

Don't waste the cash on a Hypertech.

It made a noticable seat of the pants different on my FireHawk, but it's all stock except for a few free mods. If you plan on modifying much it won' t help power wise. I think it's worth the money if youo plan on stayin stock. You can get them new for $300 shipped at performanceintl.com if you get one make sure you get the 160 thermostat with it.

I too have pcmforless tuning and it is great. A buddy of mine got the hypercrap programmer and ditched it for the same kinda tuning pcmforless does.
