Hypertech Programmer III

I recently purchased a used Hypertech Programmer III that is for a 96 camaro but I have a 94 which I was told it wouldn't work even with an adapter. I want to sell the programmer but I want to be sure it works. Obviously I can't tell if its locked but my concern is that when I installed the battery and turned it on without having it connected to a vehicle it would go through its start up but would freeze after it is looking to communicate with the vehicle. I can't turn it off or reset it othe than disconnecting the battery. Is that normal. Thanks

Re: Hypertech Programmer III

I have a used Hypertech for a 1994 #30026. It has the OBD1 connector so it will work for your 1994. I have a 1995 Camaro which has the OBD 2 connector so the hypertech I have will not connect. When I start mine up it goes thru the start up and then looks for the vehicle connection. Without being hooked up it just times out and shuts off. The Hypertech site says I need a # 345752. I do not think my 1995 car has the OBD 2 PCM and my guess the difference between the 1994 and the 1995 is just the adaptor. Does anyone know if the adaptor is the only difference?

He understands that. That's why in his first post he indicates he is selling it. He wants to know how to determine if it works, so he can be honest when selling it.
