hypertech problem, says interupted transfer.....

i had this thing and the scan cartridge for like 2 years, works fine. I used it to adjust rev limiter mainly. Anyway, long story short my accel crapped out and i hooked up the hypertech to put the stock rev limiter back on, but now when i power up the hypertech it goes all the way up to the self test and says something like "interupted transfer, insert fxe4 cartridge to continue" So i figure they are talking about the scan cartridge, so i powered it off, put in the scan cartridge, the scan cartridge works fine. THen tried the normal hypertech, still says same thing. Any ideas??? Thanks.

If it didn't happen in the middle of programming you should be fine, thats what it sounds like your saying but I'm not sure.

If it says that programming's been interrupted, you're gonna have to send it to them. Hopefully you're the original owner or they won't do crap to help you.

They replaced mine with a new one for free when it happened to me. I wasn't the original owner.

Resetting the PCM via pulling the battery or the PCM_BATT fuse is not going to fix half programmed PCM. If it was in the middle of a handshake then maybe that would do it, but not if it was genuinly in the middle of programming.

well, here's exactly what i did. I reset the pcm by disconnecting the battery for 45 min, still says same thing. The car still runs perfect though. And, i do not recall ever interupting a transfer when it was syncing with the pcm. Here is exactly what it says though

"Programing was interupted cartridge fce7 is required insert cartridge then restart"

I'm going to call hypertech guys, thanks anyway. This sucks.

Oh yeah, mudge it didn't say it in the middle of programing, only when i first hook it up and it goes thru it's self test. But i need to change my rev limiter, and the hypertech isn't let me access the pcm without this "fce7" thing i have no idea what it is. But the pcm itself seems to be operational................
