HVAC check valve cracked

HVAC check valve cracked

I am on my second check valve... They are cracking on the side..... Any ideas on why this is happening??... Its located at the normal spot , not by anything hot...

Eh, I just bought a $1.88 vacuum hose "T" connector and used that in place of the check valve.

I thought about that, but figured the check valve must serve a purpose...

That's sorta why I posted it, to see if anyone would mention any probs with it.

Haven't had any probs thus far though.

It just won't hold any vacuum during low vacuum situations and when the engine is off.

Thanks, I was hoping you'd chime in. Does this mean that my vacuum canister is pretty much not used, and it's just going off of manifold vacuum?

It works fine for acouple of days then, crack...

Basically, yes. It does not get a chance to store any vacuum.

So, at WOT the doors will close???? I could live with that.. But I still dont know why the valve is cracking??? Clogged line???
Yeah, the air direction will change to the floor and defrost during low vacuum. Other people have reported that problem (repeated cracking). I don't have a good answer for it.
