huge misfire after header install
huge misfire after header install
a little background, a few weeks ago my car started having a hard start condition, and a bit of cutting out when i first got it started and idling. i figured it was my fuel pump because i really dont drive it that much. so i figure i'll change the fuel pump when i install the headers over the weekend.
i got it all installed, new pacesetter headers, new fuel pump/filter, and when i go to start it, it is still a hard start only now there is a huge misfire. my car isn't drivable. there are 2 things that happened during the install that might be an issue, first is a busted Coolant Temp. Sensor. i havent been able to drive to the parts store to get a new one yet. the second is the O2 extensions. i just used the wire that came with the headers to extend the O2's. keeping the colors seperate was easy except for the whites. does it matter if you hook up the 2 white wires backwards?
other than that, i think it might be my opti going out on me. when i floor it, it doesnt even rev up, cant get the motor to spin past about 2k. anyone have any ideas?

Re: huge misfire after header install
soo, my new Racetronix fuel pump is only pushin 10psi to the rails. anyone know what could be causing this? it's all hooked up right, do the racetronix pumps just have a bit of a quality problem? the shop is putting in a new delco pump tomorrow.

Most likely an install related issue.
Re: huge misfire after header install
i cant believe this is an install issue. this is the 3rd racetronix pump i've installed. i think there may be a clog in the fuel line or a short in the harness to the fuel pump. i tried to tell the guy at the shop this, i'm gonna be upset if he installs this pump without checking those things. its having the same problems that the pump i replaced a year ago just started having the last 2 weeks or so, it has just gotten worse.
