HP drops off like a rock after 5700RPM's

RPM HP A/F
5700 288 12.76
5800 263 12.59
5900 244 12.62
6000 225 12.61

Anyone knows what this could be? Also at 5300-5400 there is this irregularity that drops 20HP and picks it right back up and does the same thing 100rpm's later. Anyone know what could be causing the sever hp drop off and the irregularity? I'm hopin its not the opti, it doesnt seem to be breaking up at all and idles smooth.

tight vavle lash kills high rpm hp. As for the other drop, could be ignition related.

I only turned the rockers 1/2 turn pasted no lash when I adjusted them. I guess what my question is, is do all stock cam/head LT1's drop off on power like this after 5700 RPM's? It shifts at 5800, so i guess its really not that big of a problem...

well, yes they do drop off pretty hard. I actually went and looked at my near stock dyno for reference and yours seems to be dropping off a harder than it should be especially considering that i was still using the stock springs and rockers.

You're running a stock cam, that's it's peak pretty much. You want to spin higher, get a cam that will use it.
