Which is Faster A4 or M6

Some one was telling me in 93 when the Lt1 came out, that the M6 was so much faster than the A4 that in 94 they fixed that with the computer and made the A4 faster than the year before but made it too fast and it was faster than the A4. So is that true and which is faster the A4 or M6 in a 94 Z28

well aesthetically automatic transmissions are faster.. you just step on the pedal, no missed gears.. feet and hands cant compete with a computer chip shifting.

Ever heard of a torque converter? Your in the power band much more than with a manual. You guys should try the search function. There are tons of threads like this.

stock for stock M6 wins....A4 with torque converter and lower gear ratio is often more consistent though

yes, they do come with torque converters but everyone on here is talking about an aftermarket torque converter (ie...vigalante,Yank,ect) with a higher stall rpm.

anyway, stock for stock.....the M6 wins IMO with a good driver anyway.

auto loses 20% of its power through the transmission
and a M6 only loses 12% so they have the power advantage. the A4 is less likely to spin off the line but the M6 should reel them in when the hook

Who cares which is faster stock. Seriously. Do you plan on leaving you car stock. I sure as hell wouldnt buy a car because of what it does, but what it can do with a little work. To me, the a4 is the winner, hands down. With a higher stall, and gears, you will kill m6's all day. Plus you can go much faster with the 10 bolt, and not break it. m6's break 10 bolts with stock power and street tires.

If I could do it again I would have bought an auto.

Honestly, I don't think there would be much of a difference, I think the M6 would win but it would be by so little it wouldn't matter.
