How well do you think this setup will perform?

Forged 383 LT1 shortblock, 227/232 cam, stock heads, intake, TB, manifolds, etc. Only other mods are a CAI and catback, oh and can't forget the !emissions mod. This is on a 95 Z M6 btw. Any HP/TQ guesstimates? This is only a temporary setup until I can afford to do H&C, which probably won't be for another year or two. I'm hoping to at least get some LT's on the car by this summer. TIA

WIth stock heads and manifolds its going to be very restrictive. IMO there is no point to going 383 with stock exhaust/heads. Unless you plan to upgrade them in the near future. If I were you I would save for the stroker and buy headers and have head work done now (larger valves and porting).

Well yea, that would've been the ideal situation. I'm buying the car from a buddy of mine who was in the process of building the 383 for it but decided to buy a C5 instead. He already had the shortblock built and I could barely afford the car (even though he gave me a great deal), let alone a whole new top end for the motor so we decided to just go stock until I could do it right. I said 1-2 years but who knows if I'll have the willpower to hold out that long, my gf may have to wait a little longer for that engagement ring. lol

Honestly though, if it runs anything close to stock I'll be happy as hell. I had to sell my 12 sec. LS1 two years ago to buy a house and I've been driving a 4 dr Buick ever since. So I'm sure you can understand.

Well.... id be willing to bet that you could pull 300 to the wheels with it tuned. It might spin a little high to do it.... but I wouldn't doubt it.

see if you can at least find some sort of header for it
that would help TONS! Even if it's the cheapest you can
find! I understand the whole budget thing, but it will be
begging for headers.

I'm one step ahead of ya, just bought a nice set of slightly used Pacesetter LT's. Told ya I was impatient. lol That'll probably wipe me out for a while but what should I focus on next? Would rockers be a good investment? Or should I just start saving for heads?

You are going to need rocker arms when you swap cams for sure so I would start saving up. You are also going to need new valve springs for that cam so there is another $200.
