As everyone has said, stick with the ten bolt for your app. It's obviously cheaper but it's also lighter (better ride and handling) and it's fairly effecient (more power to the ground and better fuel economy). The ten bolt will often survive behind an automatic tranny with much more power and traction then you have.

If you were going to upgrade I wouldn't waste my time with a B&W, I'd step straight up to a Ford 9" or 8.8" or a GM 12-bolt. This is only needed for M6 drag racers or more heavily modified A4 drag racers.

It still must be worth the money for the piece of mind a near indestructable 12-bolt must provide.

Like someone mentioned earlier, just stay away from using DR's or ET streets. Auto or manual you can gernade a stock rear with just a bolt on car..if you run these tires. Of course there are some people who get lucky and do not break the rears, but there are just as many breaking them when getting great traction.

Sucks to have to pay a tow bill after launching on a stock 10 bolt and ET Streets. LOL

My stock 10 bolt is holding up fine with 3.73s and a TA rear girdle, I also run Nittos all the time.

Amen brother. I went with a 12-bolt Moser, 1350 series u-joints, and new 3.0" steel driveshaft. Man, is that 12 bolt burly compared to the stocker. There really is no comparison. Everything is bigger and better: posi unit, gears, axles, housing, bearings. When you see this rearend, you know it is meant for heavy duty street or racing.

About the only thing that can break now is the tranny. Hope that doesn't happen.
