i bought a rear end from a 4th gen Z28 is there anyway i can tell what gear ratio it may have without taking off the differental cover?any part number that may be stamped on the rear end?

if it came out of a m6 its 3.42 if its an auto is either 2.73 or 3.23.

but you can spin the axle and count how mnay times the pinion spins around and then post back with what you found and some one can tell you.
