how to tell if you have valve float?

Did some searching on valve floating and never found what it feels like when it happens and what you can do to fix it. I have new 1.6 rr and LT4 springs installed by the dealership less than 5000 miles ago.

Dyno chart. If you have float, the power will take an abrubt nose dive at higher RPMs.

This is the dyno graph from my Grand National:



The dyno operator told me this is what valve float looks like (starting just over 5k). I'm not sure he's right, but I wanted to submit it for others to confirm/deny.
