How to tell a 383 from a stock lt1?
How can i tell just by looking at the engine if its a stock lt1 or 383. also, is there any way of telling the difference by hearin the engine or how it performs?? Thanks

NO! You can not tell by looking at it. (with the heads or oil pan on)
As for performance, you cant tell either, there are stock cube LT1s that perform better than some 383's, lol.

Ask for the receipts for the parts or ask for the name of the shop who
did the build and call them. If you need absolute confirmation that the
engine in the car is in fact a 383, see "mpe331lx"'s post.
