how to take off throttle body? to clean
i was wondering besides the main four bolts that the throttle body has what is needed to take off and what can i use to clean it with?? thanks on any help
4 bolts with a 10mm socket, and the stuff to the "right" of the TB when facing it. Throttle cables you can do by hand, and the bracket has 3x 10mm bolts which are a little tough to get to if you have big hands, a 12 point wrench is nice.
As for the plastic piece it hasn't been on my car in so long I forget how it even comes off, I imagine its just some small bolts, 5/16" or 10mm probably(?)
You could also consider just cracking the TB blades and cleaning it, as long as you use a rag that isn't going to put alot of fibers in the area.

you should polish it too. i used a dremel tool and polished it to a mirror like shine using dremel polishing compound. after polishing both that and the maf i had much better throttle response. but they also had 160,000 miles of crap on them.
i bought it at the home depot for 50 dollars, there are different heads you buy for it. it has come in handy on my car for things like modifing my air box, and it is very useful around the house to. i plan on polishing my heads with it when they come of in the winter. if you buy it buy the polishing kit from dremel. it works really good.
