How to take off borla plates
Where the passenger side exhaust meets the Y connection before the muffler there are three bolts holding it on, here is a pic of mine.
Remove those bolts and there is a blockoff plate in there, the system comes with four plates ranging from a complete blockoff to wide open holes. If he didn't get those with the car you could make them pretty easily out of some sheetmetal using the one in the exhaust as a template.

It's still pretty simple to make, once you get the passenger side pipe unbolted just take a small piece of sheetmetal and trace the shape of the flange, cut it out and drill the bolt holes. You could make the size of the center blockoff hole any size you want. Or I'm sure he could order a set of four plates from Borla or one of their vendors. I would guess they would want $20 or so for the set.
