How is the SLP 2400 Stall converter?
How is the SLP 2400 Stall converter?
I have a 95 T/A, thinking of this converter and a tranny cooler.
I found it for 295 new, and figure it wont beat up my stock 4l60e as hard as a 3200 or up.
How much am I looking at dropping e/t wise (running a 13.9 with 2.1 60').
Thanks,
James
Also, should I do a shift kit at this time (would it net me anything).

Too small. Why even do it, if your not REALLY going to put one in. 1800 RPM is stock. You need to step up to a 2800 stall. My TCI Converter from Summit Racing was $429 shipped. It is a 10" COnveter on a 1.75 STR. It dropped my times by a strong .5 in the quarter. Make sure you get a cooler. Summit also has one fro about $30.

SLP converter
I have this converter and it does what it is intended to do. Before my hot cam i could cut 1.82 60's, afterwards the best i could do was a 1.92, I then put the SLP converter in and go 1.72-1.75. I actually hate the way a stall feels during normal driving, feels real sluggish unless you are getting on it. If I had to do it over again I would put my stock stall back in, but just my opinion though and every one has one. Hope this helps
definately too small. I wouldnt go smaller than 3000. I got a 3200 and with the cam I have its too small now. I recommend COAN. they make excellent covertors that work just as well as the vigilante but still retain a good punch when you hit the gas. Its a very tight convertor. I would say between 2800 and 3000 for you.
