How to replace lights in an auto car?

How to replace lights in an auto car?
My gear lights by my automatic shifter dont light up, how do i get to the bulb? Take off the whole console?

You can just unsnap the rectangular part that goes around the shifter, in front of the cupholder.

Then you can get to the bulb from the bottom of that

Might have to remove your shift **** also...
