No start after Cam install...need help

Finished a cc306 cam install with ported heads, all new valve train(except valves), extreme duty timing set, new injectors, longtube headers. Tune is from Madz28.

The car started after about 5 or 6 tries. Then it would surge badly and not run unless you manipulated the throttle. Let it run for about 5 minutes and let it die. Showing no fuel pressure from fuel rail. Tried starting again and would not fire. Changed fuel filter. Still no pressure. Fuel pump is priming when key is turned. Haven't looked at the plugs yet.

I have a Datamaster file from one of the failed starts if anyone can take a look at it.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx

absolutely no pressure at all from the gauge i'm using. Still need to find out if the guage is working. It's fairly new and has only been used once before the tear down to check existing fuel pressure.

Try pushing the shrader valve in on the rail wit a pen or something small,if it does'nt squirt,no pressure.Prolly the pump. You need to check the basics, spark and fuel. And it sounds like you have a fuel issue.

I am assuming that it is fuel related also. There is some fuel coming out of the valve but I still havent been able to read any pressure. I still haven't checked to see if the gauge is bad. This next week I should get time to check plugs. With it running for a few minutes and surging very badly, I feel it is most definitely fuel.

I still would like someone to check out this datamaster file of the failed crank to see if they can decifer any bad sensor readings.

forget the gauge, if youre not sure if its working...spray some starting fluid in the intake, if it fires up from then its fuel related

can anyone else offer some advice? The spark plugs look good. Pump sounds strong when it primes.

Could this be caused by bad gas?

when you spray starting fluid in it does it start up and run fine for a few seconds? if yes, it is probable bad fuel.

Doesn't mean jack. You need to get a good pressure reading off the rail.

Do the basics....spark, air, fuel, opti-spark wiring....I'm assuming that the cam was installed correctly(timing marks, etc).

Well here's an update....

Finally got the gauge to show fuel pressure. After siphoning tank and adding about 5 gallons of new gas. Sitting right at 39 psi. Push it outta the garage and try to fire it up. No spark. Started checking coil and opti. Nothing. Finally thought about the fuse. Yep, it's the ignition fuse. Changed it out and now it runs fine. Madz28's tune is fantastic! No surge, great idle.

Thanx for your help guys. I was about ready to pull my hair out.
