How to remove steering wheel

Im putting on a new steering wheel but it seems the puller dosent pull the wheel off as easy as i thought it would. Do i just keep turning it harder? These wheels on tight? I dont want to break anything let me know if anyone has done it before.

I have always wondered about taking these steering wheels off. How do you get around the airbag? Or do you have to det it off?

There are 4 screws on the back side that hold the airbag on the steering wheel.

stoopid question

My steering wheel has never been level. It always 'leans' the right just a hair to drive straight. I know the wheel alignment is good so I was wondering if there was an easy way to level the steering wheel without any special tools. I'd like it to be even when I am driving cuz it annoys me - even after 9 years!

That is an alignment issue. Your tie rods are not centered (given one is not bent). When you get an alignment, part of their procedure is to center the wheel. Do not center the wheel by removing it and putting it back on.

Thanks, I'll pay closer attention next time I fork over $$$ for the alignment. Im not surprises it could be out of whack again, Jersey roads are some of the worst I've ever been on.

It was a tight fit on my car too. I did have to open up the inside of the steering column cover.

Thanks thats what i needed to know i dremmeled it out some it fits but rubs a bit i dont think kit will pose a problem. How far does it go down the colum when you tightened it all the way down? all the way to the plastic cover? Mine only went down a little ways into the colum cover. Let me know if it should go further

As I remember there was maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch of overlap.
